About Little Oaks Day School
PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION
The philosophy of Little Oaks Day School is founded on the Word of God and reflects the mission of Hill Country Church and our Statement of Faith.
Little Oaks believes that admonition to “train a child in the way he should go…” (Proverbs 22:6) includes a well-balanced and high quality education--beginning in early childhood--that is based on a Biblical foundation.
We believe that children are truly “a gift from the Lord” (Ps. 127:3). Therefore, our purpose is to train and inspire children to embrace and obey the word of God—ultimately leading them toward acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior.
We believe that obedience is the heart of character training, which will cultivate an inner self-control as children mature. We believe this to be essential to the emotional, physical and spiritual well-being of each child.
Little Oaks believes that a child is best trained when there is a unity of vision in the training from the parents, the school and the church. It is important that we are all “…standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel” (Phil.1:27) to “…make my job complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose” (Phil. 2:2). We strive to encourage that unity by developing close bonds of fellowship between the parents, the students and the faculty. We believe that this type of training will best equip children for their role in God’s plan and for the proper places in society.
We believe:
- That every child is unique intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually
- That every child should be challenged to think, learn and develop to their highest potential
- That every child can be successful within the framework of their individual needs
- That every child should have the opportunity to explore areas of interest and the world around them, utilizing a variety of methods and teaching styles
- That the development of self-discipline should be the shared responsibility of school, home and the child.
- The scripture promises that if we “train up a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). It is our vision that the children of Little Oaks Day School will go on to influence their generation for Christ.
Our Mission
- To provide a loving, caring and safe environment that fosters spiritual, physical emotional, social and cognitive growth of the child through a Christian approach.
- To create an environment that is conducive to learning and creativity, where children can experience God’s love and discover their own unique gifts and abilities.
- To function as an outreach ministry of Hill Country Church at Fair Oaks Ranch by nurturing families of the children enrolled in our school, as well as the children themselves.
Hill Country Church Statement of Faith
- The Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God, the sole authority for faith and practice.
- There is only one God who reveals himself to man as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- Man is separated from God due to sin.
- God’s Son, Jesus Christ, was born of the Virgin Mary, died on the cross for man’s sins, and bodily rose again on the third day, ascended to the Father and will return to take his Church.
- Man can only be saved, have eternal life in heaven with God, by repenting of sin, and by faith, accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. This salvation is provided by the grace of God. Man cannot be saved through his own efforts or works.
- We believe in the Holy Spirit who indwells believers and enables them to live a godly life.
- We believe in spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
